Root canals are one of the most common dental procedures that help end an infected tooth's pain. After removing the tissue, the dentist thoroughly cleans the inside of the tooth. Then, they fill the tooth and seal it to protect against future infection. Sometimes, they will place a crown over the root canal-treated tooth for support.
The procedure usually takes two appointments, one for the cleaning and filling and another for the crown placement. Local anesthesia can ensure the client does not feel pain during the procedure.
